Load Combination Editor

Used to create and edit load combinations. The load combinations will appear in the Load Combination Manager dialog.

Load combinations data
  • Combination Name — Enter or edit the name of the load combination. This value is user-defined.
  • Description — Enter a description for the load combination. This value appears in the Description field on the Load Combination Manager dialog.
Load cases and combinations settings

Highlight the load cases and created combination(s) to use in calculating the load combination. The analysis of your model will be based on individual load cases and the load combinations entered here. To create a load combination that will be in this list, click Add To List

  • Load cases and combinations list — Load cases and load combinations are listed here.
  • Created combination — Displays the load combinations available in the DGN file.
    • Add to List – Click to add this load combination to the list displayed in the Load Combination Manager. If clicked while you are copying an existing load combination and you have not changed the name, you will receive an error message saying that this is a duplicate value. Change the name of the load combination and click the button again to add it to the list.
    • Remove – Removes the highlighted load case.
  • Add >>> Factor = 1.0 — Click to add the load highlighted in the left-hand pane to the list that will be the new load combination in the right-hand pane. The load case is applied with a factor of one.
  • Add >>> Specify Factor — If you want to make it a factor larger or smaller than the load is by default. Click Add >>> Specify Factor to add the load highlighted in the left-hand pane to the right-hand pane. Select a multiplier from the factor drop down list.
    • Factor drop-down list – Select the factor to apply to the load you have highlighted in the left-hand pane.
String settings
  • Load Combination String — Displays the loads to use in calculating this load combination.
  • Edit/Clear — If the Edit/Clear button displays Edit, click to edit the value in the combination string text box. If the button says Clear, click to erase the value in the combination string text box.
Dialog button controls
  • OK — Click to accept the changes and dismiss the dialog.
  • Cancel — Click to dismiss the dialog without making any changes.
